The agreement between you and Stay in Home Stays when you browse, book and stay with us.
By using Stay in Home Stays you agree to these terms. Please read them — they explain your rights, your responsibilities and ours.
These terms apply to everyone who accesses our website and apps. They work alongside our Privacy Policy and Cancellation & Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Who we are
Stay in Home Stays is a marketplace that connects guests with locally-run homestays in Hanle, Ladakh and the surrounding Changthang region. We provide the platform to discover and book stays; the stay itself is provided by the independent homestay host you book with.
Your account
You must be able to enter a legally binding contract to book. Keep your login details confidential — you are responsible for activity on your account. Provide accurate information, and let us know promptly if anything changes. Homestay owner and administrator accounts are created by our team, not through self sign-up.
Bookings & payment
A booking is confirmed once payment is completed. To reserve your rooms we collect the full stay amount upfront through our payment partner; the total shown at checkout (nightly rate for all rooms and nights, less any coupon) is what you pay. Please review the dates, rooms and guest details before you pay — you are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter.
Cancellations & refunds
Cancellations and refunds follow our Cancellation & Refund Policy, except where a homestay states its own terms, which are shown at booking and take precedence. The refund window is measured from when we receive your cancellation request.
Acceptable use
When you use Stay in Home Stays, you agree to:
- Use the platform only for lawful purposes and genuine bookings.
- Do not misuse, disrupt, scrape, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Do not post false, misleading, abusive or infringing content in reviews or messages.
- Respect your host, their home and their house rules during your stay.
- Do not resell or commercially exploit a booking without our written consent.
Liability & the role we play
Stay in Home Stays provides the booking platform. The homestay, its facilities and your experience during the stay are the responsibility of the host. We work hard to list accurate information and to help resolve issues, but we are not liable for the acts or omissions of hosts or guests.
Travel to Hanle involves high altitude (around 4,500 metres), remote roads, mountain passes and Inner Line Permits. You travel at your own risk and are responsible for your permits, health, insurance and personal safety. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.
Content on the site — text, images, logos and branding — belongs to Stay in Home Stays or our partners and may not be copied or reused without permission.
Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in India. We may update these terms from time to time; the version published on this page is the one that applies to your use of the service.
